1. Finding the Right Artwork

Use the Shop to browse by medium, style, price range, and dimensions. Each artwork listing shows multiple images — always check the detail shots to evaluate texture and finish.

Tip: A painting photographed under artificial lighting may look warmer in person. Ask the artist for a photo in natural light if you are unsure about colour.

2. Understanding the Artist

Every listing links to the artist's profile, which includes their bio, artistic statement, education, exhibition history, and social links. Take a moment to learn about the artist — it adds meaning to your purchase and helps you assess their professional background.

3. Placing Your Order

You can purchase as a guest or with an account. An account is recommended — it lets you track your order, contact the artist, and receive notifications.

  1. Click Add to Cart on any artwork listing.
  2. Review your cart — check quantities and artwork details.
  3. Proceed to Checkout. Enter your shipping address and select a payment method.
  4. Submit your order. You'll receive an order confirmation email with your unique order reference.
  5. The artist will contact you to confirm availability and provide payment details.

Note: Your order confirmation is not a payment receipt. Payment is arranged directly with the artist after order confirmation.

4. Payment Methods

Artists set their own accepted payment methods. Common options include:

🏭 EFT / Direct Deposit

The artist sends you their bank details. Transfer the amount and send proof of payment. Most common in South Africa.

💳 Credit / Debit Card

Some artists accept card payments directly. Details will be provided on request.

💸 PayFast

Secure online payment through PayFast — supports all major South African banks and cards.

💵 Cash on Collection

For local buyers who prefer to collect in person. Confirm with the artist before visiting.

Important: Never send cash by post or courier. Use EFT or PayFast for remote transactions. Keep your proof of payment until the artwork is delivered.

5. Delivery & Shipping

Shipping is arranged directly between the artist and buyer. The artist will package the artwork and advise on shipping cost and courier. Shipping costs are shown per listing where the artist has specified them.

Delivery times vary by artist location and courier. Most artworks reach buyers within 3–10 business days within South Africa. International shipping is at the artist's discretion.

6. Artwork Condition & Returns

All artworks are sold as described by the artist. If you receive an artwork that is significantly different from its description or damaged in transit:

  1. Photograph the packaging and artwork immediately on receipt.
  2. Contact the artist within 48 hours via their profile or your order page.
  3. If the issue is not resolved, contact ArtworkHub SA at support@artworkhubsa.co.za.

Returns are at the artist's discretion for change-of-mind situations. Please ask about return policies before purchasing if this is a concern.

7. Buying at Auction

Auctions on ArtworkHub SA are timed — they end at a set date and time. The highest bidder at the end wins, subject to the reserve price being met.
